Reviews for The Firefly Code

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book! Audiobook really helped me to stay constant. The bond between the Firefly Five at the end is amazing and I’d love to read the sequel!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked this quite a bit, although there was a too-long section on not liking a friend after learning something about who they are. It's probably age appropriate, but that part seemed to drag for me.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Mori and her friends on Firefly Lane live in a utopian city called Old Harmonie, sheltered from the outside world. Parents can genetically design their children. When these children turn thirteen, they learn their genetic makeup and obtain certain “enhancements.” A new girl, Ilana, moves to Firefly Lane. Mori and her friends cannot help but notice something is different about Ilana. She is almost too perfect but also strange. As the children of Firefly Lane get curious, they begin to discover the history of their town, and much, much more. Author Megan Frazer Blakemore writes an exciting story keeping the reader curious and desiring more. I enjoyed the back-story of the town of Old Harmonie, the message of friendship, and doing the right thing. THE FIREFLY CODE is well-paced and perfect for classrooms grade four and up.
