Some have criticise this as a rambling book. But they have come to it with the wrong expectations thinking it to be a simple fact and name history of the Reformation. In fact it is a masterful reflection of the overall meaning of the Reformation aimed at understanding the revolution remove meant that led to the modern world. Both the author and the narrator a highly to be commended, the first for his breath of knowledge and the second for the excellence with which this work is read.

This is more a philosophical history of the Reformation than a standard, chronological history. It is very interesting in some parts, not so much so in some places. I found what he had to say about the Reformation in England the most intriguing. Martha Huntley

This was one of the most entertaining reads I have come across on the Reformation. Full of sarcasm and humor, Collinson recounts the Reformation and its impact with a great deal of wit and passion.
