Fancy words are simply fascinating! Learn how to speak fancy with help from Nancy in this A–Z guide.

From everyone's favorite fancy girl comes an alphabetical guide to enhancing vocabulary. Why say ""beautiful"" when there are fancy words like ""gorgeous"" and ""glamorous""? Instead of ""hello,"" try ""bonjour,"" which is French and so much fancier! An umbrella will keep you dry, but a parasol will make you feel like a Hollywood movie star!

With this helpful A-to-Z guide, Fancy Nancy shows that making plain words into fancy ones is not only educational, it's fun. Glossary of words included.

follows the Fancy Nancy series. Shows Nancy illustrating some of her big fancy words. An A-Z of fanciness.

I have many fans of Fancy Nancy, including my niece, my youngest daughter, and many of my young female students. This book has proven to be as well-loved by those fans as any of the others in the series. Fancy Nancy presents her favorite fancy words in this ABC book, each one beginning with a letter of the alphabet. They are presented not just as an arbitrary word, but the author also gives the definition and uses it in a sentence, with illustrations to support each word. This may be a bit hard for less independent readers to read on their own, but if read repeatedly, it will allow young readers to feel confident and sophisticated in their use of some slightly more difficult vocabulary than most ABC books contain.

Fancy Nancy is great for all of those students interested in fancy things. As an abc book, in my class, this has gathered the attention of lower-reading girls who appreciate Nancy's zeal. In the classroom, Fancy Nancy is great for demonstrating the use of adjectives.

This book is about the main character Nancy, sharing with her audience (us) her favorite fancy words. This book is a great book to teach kids and any age interesting fancy words. Most of the words I knew, but there were a few that I even learned. The pictures are very colorful and exciting. The author states the word, a definition and uses it in a sentence. This book is great for teachers who have similar or the same vocabulary words as the book. Great book!

This is a great book to expand the vocabulary of young children. It encourages kids to add new words by comparing it to "adding sprinkles to vanilla ice cream." It goes from A to Z with new words that are not commonly used in alphabet books and encourage children to use them creatively. The words are then used in a sentence with other words that may be unfamiliar which encourages kids to ask questions and understand the terms in a different way. It is written in a childlike voice which appeals to children. The illustrations are funny and colorful and each one tells a small story. There are so many interesting details that can hold the attention of a child for an extended period of time. I have enjoyed many Fancy Nancy books and this one is no exception.

Could be used with all ages as an introduction to creating his/her own alphabet book. The illustrations are amazing. Great example of using vocabulary word in a sentence for meaning.

A wonderful alternative to the typical ABC book! This allows readers to form a bigger & more enjoyable vocabulary that also helps them remember their alphabet. The illustrations are beautiful & brings the words to life! Also, having sentences included using the word described helps the reader understand the real meaning of the word.

This book goes through the alphabet using big words that start with the same letter. It would really encourage younger girls want to use those "Fancy" Words.
