- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Sorry but I was unable to relate to the unsympathetic protagonist. I hoped to better understand what made people collaborate with authoritarian regimes. But this is where the book fell short, no explanation given, just a man with no moral compass , he does not even regret his complicity but keeps on betraying all around him. So I felt as a reader also betrayed and disappointed of me sad that I lost so much time reading or better listening to it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing powerful writing. Fantastic storytelling. Vivid characters. Sofer has blossomed as a writer.
