About this audiobook
President Gwen Iceni and General Artur Drakon have successfully liberated the Midway Star System—but the dictatorial former rulers of the Syndicate Worlds won’t surrender the region without a fight.
Outnumbered and led by junior officers hastily promoted in the wake of the uprising, Midway’s warships are no match for the fleet massing and preparing to strike. But the Syndicate isn’t the only threat facing Iceni and Drakon. Another
former CEO has taken control of the Ulindi Star System, the first calculated move toward establishing his own little empire.
With Drakon’s ground forces dispatched to Ulindi, Midway erupts in violence as Syndicate agents and other, unknown enemies stoke a renewed revolt against Iceni’s power—leaving both her and Drakon vulnerable to trusted officers just waiting for an opportune moment to betray them …

Reviews for Imperfect Sword
53 ratings3 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Yup, love this one, too. The relationship between the protagonists is interesting, and I liked the battle for Ulindi.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The third book in the series and its still a fun read, particularly in the action scenes. But I have to say the dialogue really can become overly ponderous and plodding from time to time, with the same conversations gone over in excruciating length or plot points repeated in the most stilted and dull dialogue. This one could probably have done with the bit of editorial trimming.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5High level spin-off of the Black Jack Geary space epic. Action packed with more chaos than coherence. Two ominous major characters are missing and the General has an infant daughter to find. Lots of hooks for the next installment.
