About this audiobook
Sonya Curry chronicles the never-before-shared story of raising her children and her lifelong devotion to education, family, and faith.
Sonya Curry’s journey, like those of her extraordinary sons and daughter, was filled with defeats and hard-fought victories, but hers took place out of the limelight, without the eyes of the world watching, cheering, or drawing inspiration from her example. Until now.
In this inspiring memoir, Sonya tells her story for the first time, beginning with her childhood in rural Virginia and moving through the peaks and valleys of an incredible life—from raising her immensely gifted but sometimes headstrong children, to becoming an educator and founding a Montessori school, to discovering a profound, life sustaining connection to God and faith.
Fierce Love is a wise and illuminating story of family, faith, and purpose. With something for everyone—seekers, sports fans, people of faith, lovers of memoir— it’s one strong mother’s gift to all who wonder how, where, and whether they’ll find the strength.
Editor's Note
Love and basketball…
The mother of two NBA champions — Steph and Seth Curry — offers an inside look into the Curry family and how she raised her children to do what’s right in the face of adversity. From an early life living in poverty and being harassed by the KKK to leading her sons to athletic greatness, Curry credits her children’s success to their shared faith. With a wry sense of humor, she shares a heartfelt story of resilience, familial love, and, of course, basketball.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sonya Curry bravely shares personal stories from her journey through life. I appreciate that gift and plan to steal from lessons she learned… Especially as I continue to parent. I laughed out loud as she recounted some of the shenanigans her kids got up to. I think “natural consequences” is my new mantra. This book is both comforting and empowering. #ICanDoAllThings
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thankful to Sonya Curry for writing this book. It was a good story that illustrates what it looks like to commit to God and live intentionally, especially as a parent.
It's made me grateful to my own mom for all the intentionality she had raising my siblings and me.
