A new and strikingly illustrated visual re-interpretation of the classic mystical poetic work by the English poet and printmaker William Blake, 'The Marriage of Heaven and Hell' is a must-read for any serious literati or poet. Narrated by award winning producer-narrator Jason Rosette
Blake's groundbreaking work may be best known for the prophetic chapter 'Proverbs of Hell':
"Drive your cart and your plough over the bones of the dead"
"The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom"
"Prudence is a rich ugly old maid courted by Incapacity"
(and more)
Timeless aphorisms combined with a pioneering visionary Romantic spirit make 'The Marriage of Heaven and Hell' a must-read for any serious poet or literati. The book was composed between 1790 and 1793 in the period of ferment and political conflict immediately following the French Revolution.
William Blake
William Blake (1757-1827) was a nonconformist who associated with some of the leading radical thinkers of his day, such as Thomas Paine and Mary Wollstonecraft. A skilled engraver and illustrator, his illustrated poetry collections resembled the illuminated books of the Middle Ages.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love Blake, and this is a great rendition with a very listenable tenor vox; however, Blake is not fluffly listening, and listener should be in the 'right mood' for ideal experience :)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5With a vocabulary that would make Jordan Peterson swoon and esoteric meanings galore, The Marriage of Heaven and Hell is a cornucopia of metaphors and purple passages. Rather than leaving it as background noise, the poem requires focused listening; mentally taxing certainly, but worth it for the sublime imagery alone . "A man who never changes his mind is like still water that breeds reptiles of the mind," is a genius line that will be used in my next fishbowl .
