Ruth Stiles Gannett was born in 1923 and wrote her first novel at age 25. “My Father’s Dragon” was a 1948 Newberry Honor Book and went on to be an ALA notable Book. Her other titles include The Wonderful House-Boat-Train and Katie and the Sad Noise. The granddaughter of Unitarian minister and reformer Ezra Stiles Gannett, she is married to artist and calligrapher Peter Kahn and lives in upstate New York, near Cornell University.     The WORST reading of a book I’ve ever heard. There are no breaks between sentences and no differentiation for dialogue. The whole thing sounds like a run-on sentence and it’s very tense to listen to. The rating is for the reading only, not the story’s content.
