About this audiobook
Margaret Peterson Haddix
Margaret Peterson Haddix grew up on a farm in Ohio. As a kid, she knew two girls who had the exact same first, middle, and last names and shared the same birthday—only one year apart—and she always thought that was bizarre. As an adult, Haddix worked as a newspaper reporter and copy editor in Indiana before her first book, Running Out of Time, was published. She has since written more than forty books for kids and teens, including the Greystone Secrets series, the Shadow Children series, the Missing series, the Children of Exile series, and lots of stand-alones. Haddix and her husband, Doug, now live in Columbus, Ohio, where they raised their two kids. You can learn more about her at haddixbooks.com.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Not one of my favorites not enough action for the intended audience.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sixteen-year-old Lindsay, a former child star whose career ended when she developed the ability to hear what anyone, anywhere says about her and apparently suffered a nervous breakdown, comes to see this as an asset when, after her father's death, she learns that she is not alone.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5good coming of age story for preteens discovering that the world doesn't revolve around them. hits you on the head with the message (preachy) making it less enjoyable for adults and teens. hope there is a sequel.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Lindsay Scott was a child star, revered by sitcom-watchers across the country. Now a teen, fallen from celebrity, and living in a small town, Lindsay would rather stay unknown than return to the Hollywood life. But it’s not easy when every time you step outside your house you can hear anything anyone in the world is saying about you. Add the fact that reruns of Lindsay’s old show are shown around the world at any given time, and you can see why Lindsay has become a recluse. But when the unthinkable happens, Lindsay is forced to brave the world she has hidden from all these years. This riveting novel is a wonderful addition to Haddix’s expansive repertoire, sure to impress her many fans.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not my favorite Haddix book. I was really into it in the beginning, but i lost interest halfway through.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a talent that came out of nowhere. One day Lindsay Scott was on the top of the world, the star of a hit tv show. The next day her fame had turned into torture. Every time anyone said anything about her, she heard it. And everyone was talking about Lindsay: fans, friends, enemies, enemies who pretended to be friends....Lindsay had what looked like a nervous breakdown and vanished from the public eye. But now she's sixteen and back in the news: A tabloid newspaper claims that Lindsay is being held hostage by her father. The truth? Lindsay has been hiding out in a small Illinois town, living in a house that somehow provides relief from the stream of in her head. But when two local teenagers try to "rescue" Lindsay by kidnapping her, Lindsay is forsed to confront everything she's hiding from. And that's when she discovers there may be others who share her strange power. Lindsay is desperate to learn more, but what is she willing to risk to find the truth?
