PED-al to the metal

IT was a nice quiet start to the new week in boxing as it emerged that Ryan Garcia tested positive for a performance enhancing drug before AND after beating Devin Haney on April 20.

According to ESPN, the banned substance Ostarine was present in Garcia’s urine samples, casting a shadow over his latest victory. But Garcia protested his innocence via social media.

“Everybody knows I don’t cheat,” he said during a bizarre video with two of his mates in the background providing adlibs. “What can I say? Why didn’t they come out with this before the fight if they found it before? These are people trying to attack me for some reason but no weapon against me shall prosper.”
