The Cruising Kiwis

If you fancy a sailing channel with a bit of everything, then I suggest you check out The Cruising Kiwis. New Zealander Rob Hamill and his British wife Rachel bought their 2004 in 2014 with the intention of circumnavigating the globe with their three sons Finn, Declan and Ivan. The family’s combined sailing knowledge was limited to what Rob had gleaned from having raced P-class yachts for three years from the age of 11, although after having competed in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta on the NZ rowing team he did win the inaugural Atlantic Rowing Race from Tenerife to Barbados, which presumably gave him a foundation in ocean navigation.
