In the scenarios detailed below, I have endeavoured to present battles playable in an evening, and that present challenges for both players. The rules you use may need to be adapted to allow for tactical-level combat down to company level, so long-established systems like General de Brigade work well.

THE BATTLE OF NEUMARKT
24 APRIL, 1809
In this battle, Marshal Bessieres ordered General Wrede, commanding the 2nd Bavarian Division with modest French support, to deploy his men south of the River Rott and defeat any troops sent against him. The marshal knew that a far larger Austrian army was approaching, but dismissed the risk and believed they could still be beaten. Although Wrede was concerned to have the river at his back, with the risk of a difficult retreat through Neumarkt, he nevertheless followed orders.
This battle consisted of a series of clashes involving relatively modest numbers of troops. Whereas the Austrians had vastly superior forces in the vicinity, only a limited number were brought into action, and this is reflected in the forces suggested
