CREATE A STYLISED FAN ART PORTRAIT

This tutorial is based on my own rendition of Howl from classic Studio Ghibli movie Howl’s Moving Castle. My main aim was for a semi-realistic recreation of the character that keeps his features recognisable.

Rendering, lighting and texture will be the focus of this workshop. Over the next few pages, I’ll guide you through the process behind my portrait from the first sketch to the finished illustration.
