Sadiq Khan has welcomed reports that the Government is expected to release over £1bn of taxpayer funds to pay for the HS2 tunnel to Euston.
The London ’s office said that the reported cash injection would represent “progress at last” in bringing the high-speed railway into central London, despite pledging last year that private developers would cover the tunnel’s costs.
