ASK ME ANYTHING

SOME users had no idea it was even coming – they just suddenly noticed a new icon on their WhatsApp screen, tapped it and, voilà, a whole new world was available on their phone. The icon is Meta AI, your very own chatbot, courtesy of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg’s technology conglomerate, which owns WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.

The company first announced testing features of Meta AI and other AI tools in February last year and the AI chatbot was released to users of Meta offerings in various countries.

WhatsApp, which is used by about three billion people, has now begun rolling out Meta AI for users in some African countries, including SA and India.
