Learners, teachers barred from school over rent arrears

Learners at Barrage Primary Farm School in the Vaal have been transferred to a neighbouring school following the Gauteng Department of Education’s (GDE’s) failure to pay rent.

As a result, the landlord, Barrage Trust Fund, denied teachers and learners entry to the school premises and locked all the entrances. The incident happened earlier this month.
