Concern over education bill

Parent bodies in KwaZulu-Natal are concerned that the Department of Basic Education is taking away the powers from school governing bodies (SGB).

This is with regard to the Basic Education Laws Amendment (Bela) Bill’s proposed changes to the South African Schools Act.

The public hearing process concluded this week with the last hearings in the Eastern Cape.
