1932 Christmas Guineas

On Boxing Day 26th December 1932, members of the Sydney motorcycling community with the means to get there, converged on the western suburb of Prospect, just minutes from today’s Sydney Motor Sport Park. The occasion was the running of the Christmas Guineas, a road race program organised by the very active Five Dock Motorcycle Club, utilizing unsealed public roads that formed a lap of 2 Miles 22 Chains, or just over 3.5 km, running anti-clockwise. The start/finish was located on the crest of a rise on Cornelia Road at the intersection of Lucretia Road which is these days a very busy main road.
