BETTER TOGETHER

Without doubt, there’s one thing that makes building a classic Ford easier and that’s a good mate that is doing the same thing. Step forward friends, Clive Catterall and John Salmon who have known each other for around 40 years thanks to a family connection. Both of their Fords are over 50 years old and are built simply to have fun and enjoy, and they have the perfect tools for the job — although very different in their approach.

The cars were built side-by-side over the last few years and Clive and John both helped each other massively in their own ways, as Clive tells us. “We lived in each other’s garages during the builds. If I’m honest, John is the brains behind the operation; he’s so hands-on and nothing bothers him. My car wouldn’t be what it is without him.” John tells us he couldn’t have done it without Clive either. “He made it happen in the first place and I thank him for his ongoing support when my enthusiasm started to wane.”
