My editor is a sharp-eyed man, but then attention to detail is one of the job’s core skills. He recently sent me an email that contained a query about a piece I had written for the Spring issue of this magazine. It was a technical question, and I was pretty certain I was correct. I asked a colleague, who tends to know about these matters in granular detail. He backed me up, and I reported back to the boss.
