Mother Nature provides us with many signs of spring, but humans standing in t-shirts on the rooftop bar at Sandown Park, sipping drinks while admiring some of the best air-cooled VWs in the world is some of her finest work. You know we always like to grab your attention as soon as you enter the hallowed hall of Sandown Park, and this year was no exception. Spencer Pritchard’s awesome Oval cover star welcomed you all with open windows and a huge smile. The '58, owned by Wayne Hammond, was displayed with a full camping pack and Westy trailer.
As if that only known example of its type anywhere in the world, and a rare 1943 Type 82E from the Heyman Collection. Yes, things got off to a roaring start.
