If there’s one thing I’d take away from this year’s VolksWorld Show, it would be that the quality of cars on display was every bit as good as, if not better than, anything you’d find in the USA, or anywhere else for that matter. This isn’t just my personal opinion, I’m basing that statement on comments received from well-respected visitors from the USA and all across Europe and Scandinavia. Britain might be struggling in some areas right now but, when it comes to building world-class show cars, we’re smashing it.
In 2022, a combination of post-Covid travel issues and Brexit paperwork confusion made life hard work for overseas show car owners and visitors alike, and so we weren’t sure how that would reflect on this year’s event. But, as the show approached, the international vehicle applications quickly exceeded our expectations and, even with ferry strikes to deal with, the number of overseas cars was well up on ’22, which proved a big hit with attendees.
In fact, we’ve already received enquiries from a number of US-based show car owners about Show next year, which is very exciting news.
