THE PRO
NAME: Halo Haynes
CAMERA: Nikon Z 6II
Nobody is more qualified to teach TankSpace’s unique brand of water-based portrait photography than Halo (@earlgreyhot.images). She works as the Ollerton-based outfit’s studio manager, as well as photographer, but started her creative journey as a model. The camera was too hard to resist, so she picked up her first Nikon and quickly built up a formidable portfolio. To sign up for a TankSpace Experience Day or hire a studio, visit: www.tankspace.co.uk
THE APPRENTICE
NAME: Helen Everatt
CAMERA: Nikon Z 7II
Manchester-based Helen might be about to get wet behind the ears, but she’s certainly not a photography newcomer. Such is her passion, she’s currently studying for a diploma at the Institute of Photography (IOP) and has built up a formidable portfolio of images. What she does lack, though, is studio experience. Thankfully, Halo and the TankSpace team are on hand to make sure that the People & Culture Director learns the ropes and bags an SD card full of perfect portraits.
TankSpace is home to a whopping 10,000 litre tank and 7x7m rain machine. Both studios are custom built for photography and videography, and are served by heated and treated water reserves to ensure comfort and safety. The Nottinghamshire-based firm’s vision was to provide a big-budget studio experience to small productions, content creators and enthusiasts, and five years after goodbye to the previous client. “Right,” she said, “that’s another tank shoot sorted, now it’s straight onto the rain machine.”
