STAR LETTER

Badge answer

Werner Kassner enquired in Readers’ Letters, April 2024, for any history relating to a very attractive club badge in his possession.

The Collector’s Club met monthly on Thursday evenings in the Fred Tallent Hall in Drummond Street, North West London. It was headed up by Joe Greer, assisted by Percy Clare. This would have been in the early 1960s.

They achieved a 30-plus attendance and there were talks by various enthusiasts, plus film shows and slides of mostly veteran and vintage machines. The badge itself is a wonderful design using a section through a beaded edge tyre as the surround, and a piston ring at the base.

The club did not run any events but it did have a large loyal following and from the 1920s and 30s.
