1 BLANKET APPROACH

ake maximalist courage from Texan interior designer Michelle Nussbaumer’s kitchen, which is drenched in a patchwork of blue-and-white tiles inspired by the traditional Talavera tiles found in Mexican churches. These naturally crackle-glazed tiles are handmade in terracotta with each one boasting subtle variations and unique characteristics. ‘I love wallpaper, but it’s not practical in the kitchen, so instead I had a lot of fun with tiles and pottery,’ says Michelle.
