A very early JET 2000

According to information sourced from the fantastic book by Señor Jaime Supereibar on the subject of Eibar-produced machines, the Jet 200 was officially launched in Madrid on March 4, 1967, to rather less of a fanfare than previous models. As Jaime states, this was possibly due to the fact the popularity of these machines was beginning to wane somewhat with amantes de la mode (that’s fashion lovers, for those who never took O Level Spanish).

This particular model is a 1967 registered machine, but the metallic green colour would suggest it is a very early example, being a follow-on from the TV machines that were also in the same colour.

Over the last few years, and probably due to Jaime Supereibar championing the Spanish-produced machines so much, their popularity has once again grown, and the Eibar Lambrettas are once more the machines of the moment. I like
