With the resurgence of popular language learning programmes such as Rosetta Stone and Duolingo, the desire to learn even the basics of a brand-new language has increased across the board. That’s right, we just might be on track to amend the ghastly British reputation for being unable to engage in the most basic communication when abroad in foreign language-speaking countries.
