What a difference a year makes. In 2023 summer was literally washed away in many parts of the country, while in 2024 those same areas saw blue skies and warm dry conditions.

Hopefully that lack of rain has meant less damage to various 4WD routes, although we will still need to recognise that even dust when mixed with water creates silt. There are certainly some regional councils with agendas to find excuses to shut down vehicle recreation. Waikato Regional
