PICKING UP YOUR NEWBORN

Holding your newborn baby for the first time can make you feel quite apprehensive, but you'll get the hang of it very easily with these simple tips.

1. The most important thing to remember is to support your baby's head and neck for the first few months. Don't make any sudden movements that may startle him.

2. Once you have his head and neck firmly in your hands, pick him up gently and lift him towards your body, holding him close to your chest.

You may also want to cradle your baby. Do this
