    Along with Franz Liszt, Béla Bartók is regarded as Hungary’s greatest composer.. He wrote three piano concertos – all extremely technically demanding. Being a pianist of virtuoso capabilities, he wrote Nos 1 and 2 for himself to perform and No 3 for his second wife, Ditta, to perform. French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet has recorded them all for Chandos.
