AFRICAN HORSE SICKNESS (AHS):
African horse sickness (AHS) is a viral, often fatal disease that primarily affects horses, mules, and donkeys. It is caused by the African horse sickness virus (AHSV), and is transmitted by certain species of Culicoides biting midges.
