THE PROBLEM WITH WEIGHTS

Hi John,

Whether due to time or editorial constraints there is a lot more to the message about caravan weights in the First Words and Caravan Safety 101 columns in issue 643.

I run a 2019 Prado (the ‘good car’), a 2003 Patrol C/C (an ex-Queensland Fire and Emergency Services vehicle) with an upgraded 3700kg GVM, which pulls a NA Gecko Enduro (about 2100kg) and a work trailer 7m x 5m caged.

For nearly four years I have been doing cleanup work on the Nullarbor Plain based at Border Village Caravan Park – that's a long way from a public weighbridge.
