Carlisle Auctions, Fall Sale

Carlisle Auctions conducts four sales a year: in the spring and fall in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and in the fall and winter in Lakeland, Florida.

At the Carlisle Fairgrounds, the five-day Spring and Fall Carlisle swap meets are a must-attend; having attracted parts seekers for 50-plus years at the 82-acre facility. During the weekend of September 28-29, 2023, The Fall Carlisle Auction occurred simultaneously at the nearby 30,000-square-foot Carlisle Expo Center, where more than 400 vehicles crossed the block.

While Carlisle Auctions touted three desirable Corvettes—a 50,000-mile 1954, a rare Harvest Gold 1955, and an LS5-powered 1970—none of those met reserve, leaving a 1966 Shelby G.T. 350 H as the top sale at $210,600. Rounding out the rest of the top five were three other Corvettes, two ’65s ($109,800 and $105,300) and a 2023 ($104,440), and a 1970 Mustang ($89,100). At the other end of the scale, a 1999 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL sold for just $2,500, and a 46,000-mile 1990 Lincoln Town Car changed hands for $5,000. Reported total sales and sell-through were both down from the 2022 numbers: $4.5 million
