MUSTANG LS SWAP WITH A T-5?

I want to change the engine in my 2000 Ford Mustang to a 5.3-liter Chevy Vortec engine. The Mustang has a T-5, which I’d like to use with the 5.3 Vortec so that I can retain stock speedometer function. Am I correct in understanding that my Ford T-5 transmission will bolt to a GM T-5 bellhousing? If that’s the case, will the Ford T-5 bolt to the bellhousing used in a Chevy S-10 truck? If so, that would work well for this swap since that S-10 bellhousing will bolt
