The Metropolitan Police has performed an embarrassing U-turn and ditched a controversial prosecution against a cyclist, after accusing him of posing a danger to other road users.
Dave Clifton, 56, was cycling through Belgravia when he spotted a Range Rover driver apparently using his mobile phone at the wheel, and he sent helmet-cam footage to the Met to support a potential prosecution.
