EXERCISES TO REDUCE TENSION AND IMPROVE BOUNCE

There are several exercises that riders can perform on the ground that will help them to develop the ability to reduce the amount of tension through their body which facilitates bounce in the saddle.

GYM BALL PASS

How to do it

■ Lay flat on your back with a gym ball (or large cushion) held in your hands above your head. ■ Bring your arms towards the centre of your body, moving your legs towards the ball at the same time. ■ Pass the ball (Remember the amount of tension you should have when riding.) ■ Lower your feet toward the floor as you return your arms above your head. ■ Repeat the movement so that you pass the ball back to your hands. ■ Each pass is one repetition.
