It has been a brilliant start to the 2024 summer holidays weatherwise, no complaints here, even though the South Wairarapa is in a drought. The hills are brown with long grass waving in the northerly winds; by comparison the vineyards are vibrant green and the small hanging grapes are looking fantastic. The nets are starting to go on and I expect to hear bird scaring cannons any day now.
We have been driving up and down the country since mid-December, Christmas in Tauranga and Auckland, and New Year back in Wellington at Brewtown’s big New Year’s Eve night. Whew that was a biggie. Dragon, Hello Sailor, The Feelers, and local Wellington band The Blueprint had the 3500 crowd rocking. We booked a motorhome spot at the venue – there is an RV park for self-contained vehicles all year around at Brewtown in Upper Hutt.
