THE energy crisis, political risks, violence and corruption put South Africa under threat of increased strikes and unrest, ahead of the upcoming national elections.
Allianz Trade, which has its headquarters in Paris, and a presence in more than 50 countries, recently released its 2024 Country Risk Analysis which assessed the political and economic risks across 83 economies globally.
It found that the ongoing struggle for power and the worsening disputes among the political elite could result in an increase in violent uprisings, with 2024 being an election year for South Africa.
