Committee seeks help from the UN

INTERVENTION

THE Verulam Water Crisis Committee has sought help from the UN after losing faith in the eThekwini Municipality, the government and the South African Human Rights Commission.

For several months, Verulam and surrounding areas, including Phoenix and oThongathi (Tongaat), have been without a proper water supply.

Last month, residents in Phoenix and Verulam took to the streets to protest against the ongoing water cuts in the community. Residents blocked off entrance
