So what can I say? We have been together a year and that deserves a celebration as this is the twelfth edition of my column in Fast Ford. So firstlythankyou for listening to me ramble on over the past year together, and secondly I thought I would bring you somewhat of an exclusive for Fast Ford readers only; something which is rare in the fast-paced digital world we live in.
The Mk3 Focus RS launched in 2016 andwas one of the first owners in the UK to get a car, with mine now back in the collection and looking back to its best; a car that changed my life in so many ways, created my online platform and drove my ongoing relationship with Ford UK. I haven’t spoken about this relationship and my involvement with Ford in this manner before, but after a recent post on Linkedln in which the former Ford UK Chairman shared my involvement publicly, I felt compelled to share this story with you and a further exclusive that I have previously not disclosed. After owning both my Frozen White 2016 car and then a Shadow Black 2017 Mk3 RS, I built up an association with Ford which, due to my online profile, passion and interest in the brand, led to me being asked to consult on the run-out models that ensued - namely, the Heritage Edition. While this didn’t guarantee me a car, I was lucky enough to have prior knowledge of the vehicle in July 2017 and placed my order at the earliest opportunity. Furthermore, this meant that due to my connection with Ford I was offered the blue Focus RS50 Evocation on long-term loan for six months. And this is where the exclusive comes in…
