Plant alpine saxifrages

Saxifrages are easy to grow, low maintenance and flower for a long time. They just need good drainage under the roots and around the crown, so they fare best in a rock garden or gravel area.

1 DIG a hole that’s a little bigger than the pot your plant is currently in. Mix plenty of coarse grit into the bottom of the hole to improve the drainage.

2 TIP the plant out of its pot and check under the mound of foliage to pull out any weeds. Tease out a few of the roots from the base, too.
