FLOWERS

Plant potted Iris reticulata

Add dwarf Iris to rock gardens and alpine troughs now while you can buy them already flowering in pots. These tiny scented flowers do best in free-draining soil with plenty of sun.

Water the pot, then knock out the plants, keeping the rootball intact. Firm them in with the bulbs at a depth of 5cm. Mulch with grit to prevent the stems from rotting.
