What is the Home Office English language test scandal? Students to pitch a Mr Bates-style TV drama

International students who believed they were wrongly accused of cheating by the Home Office are now developing a TV drama pitch to clear their name. 

The students were inspired by the recent ITV drama, Mr Bates vs the Post Office, which played a role in raising awareness about the Post Office Horizon IT scandal and forced politicians to re-examine the case. 

Significant new information has recently been introduced in court, casting doubt on the Home Office's decision to accuse the students of cheating, which resulted in many of them being expelled from their courses and deported.
