IF YOU go play in the garden you might initially think there isn’t much happening out there. The most action you’ll likely see is a butterfly fluttering around or a bird perched on a branch chirping. But no, there’s much more going on than meets the eye.

All the plants you see outside are hard at work. They rely on the sun to produce food, and they do it for hours every day. We explain how this works.
