AFTER 30 years as one of the biggest events in the UK modellers’ calendar, the Warley Model Railway Club’s annual exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre near Birmingham has been suspended “for the foreseeable future” as past organisers look to retire with no replacements coming forth to take on the required positions.
The high-profile Warley National Model Railway Exhibition is loved by many for its broad range of exhibits which have regularly included one or more full-size centrepieces, ranging from locomotives such as GNR 0-6-2T in 2014, and the Erlestoke Manor Fund’s GWR 2-6-2T No. 5164 at the last event, on November 25-26, 2023, when its transportation to the event was sponsored by Accurascale, to items of rolling stock.
