Edward Seago (1910–1974) was popular in his lifetime – his annual exhibitions quickly sold out –his favourite subject matter of landscapes and seascapes fits nicely into most interiors, too. East Anglian locations were prevalent in his output and often crop up at auction. Seago collectors look for pictures of familiar places, with views of Norfolk beaches and coastal scenes being particularly sought after. In 2021, Cheffins sold , a view from the picturesque saltmarsh village of Cley-next-theSea in north Norfolk, to a local collector for £49,400.
