A BIT ABOUT ME
I’m Gareth Young, 36, a knowledge exchange and impact fellow at University of Sheffield, and I live with my partner Paul Greaves, 42, a lecturer at Stirling University.
WHERE I LIVE
Our home is a three-bedroom, semidetached Edwardian house in Dronfield, Derbyshire, which we bought in November 2016. You can follow my journey @gareth_at_keeperscottage on Instagram.
WHAT I WANTED TO CHANGE
The house was decorated beautifully, so we didn’t need to do anything straight away. After living here for a while, we wanted to add some warmer colours, replace the bathroom and give the kitchen a makeover.
HOW I MADE IT MY OWN
I love upcycling furniture and finding vintage pieces to mix in with newer furniture. We’ve also discovered a love of colour-drenching. Our home has evolved rather than being done all at once, which I think makes it look less contrived.
MY FAVOURITE PART
The bathroom has the biggest impact in terms of wow-factor and makes me smile every time I go in.
