I write to share news of another milestone in NPR history.

After more than fifty years of service to NPR and public broadcasting, Linda Wertheimer, one of our founding mothers, has announced her retirement.

Linda is an NPR icon blazing trails for women, for the news magazines and superlative reporting of politics in this country. She began as a director of , only to later host the show with her distinctive voice
