My, how you’ve grown
Whilst lamenting the miserably cold and wet weather of late, I recently noticed a Capriolo face cam engine advertised on eBay. I’d always liked the bikes, but never read an article on them, so after some research I was delighted to find one in the October 1997 issue of The Classic MotorCycle, so I sent for a copy.
As well as enjoying reading the article, I was encouraged by the fact that some of the writers are still contributing to our motorcycle wisdom today, viz. Richard Rosenthal, Phillip Tooth, Frank Melling, to mention but three. A comparison of the two issues illustrates just how far the magazine has come in 27 years.
My first impression was how old fashioned the
