Manufacturers love a good buzzword, and there aren't many better than 'T-plane' – which has nothing totractability down low, with a better spread of power, which is arguably good news for off-road trackability, overall control and usability. In essence, that's exactly what it offers and is the main reason why the tech's been continued into the new Tiger 900. Another benefit is a unique sound, as is typical with a cross-plane crank on a four-cylinder sportsbike. That latter point's a bi-product, but we are grateful of this Tiger's roar… and more to the point, its quirky crank.
